Today we revealed the full-size DART+ carriage mock-up publicly in Dublin with @irishrail ! These X’trapolis trains will be Ireland's first modern battery fleet, and will contribute to the country's carbon reduction efforts through public transport. Our X’trapolis commuter train is specially tailored for the DART+ programme, providing passengers with a comfortable and convenient travel experience. Each 82-metre train can carry up to 550 passengers and includes wide, walk-through gangways, low-level floors, and an automatic retractable step for accessibility. The trains also feature dedicated areas for families and cyclists, charging facilities for mobile phones and e-bikes, and advanced CCTV systems to enhance safety and security. The 37 trains with 31 five-car battery-electric multiple units (BEMUs) will be capable of journeys of over 80 km outside the electrified DART network under pure battery power, taking older diesel rolling stock off non-electrified lines. #DARTplus #sustainabletransport #mobilitybynature #Ireland #accessibility #greentraction

Since December 2022, the Alstom Foundation has partnered with the NGO AMREF Salud Africa (@amref_es) to reduce school dropout rates among young girls in Mwanza, Tanzania. The arrival of the first menstruation in Mwanza often means dropping out of school due to the lack of infrastructure and sanitary materials. The Alstom Foundation has provided funds to improve menstruation hygiene management and sanitation conditions for 3,035 girls in five public schools in the town of Mwanza. #ICYMI 🚄 The #TGVM recently completed dynamic tests at 200 km/h on the dedicated ring in the Czech Republic. This is an important step in the ongoing testing campaign, which will last for almost 6 months as the teams continue to carry out functional tuning tests. During this time, the overall operation of the train will be thoroughly tested, with speeds reaching up to 320 km/h. Stay tuned for more updates!
